Bennett's headache? MK Gideon Sa'ar will deliver a special statement tonight (Tuesday) at 8:15 PM. He is likely expected to announce his resignation from the Likud and the establishment of a new party.

Yisrael Beiteinu Party Chairman Avigdor Lieberman spoke this evening with Ben Caspit and Aryeh Eldad on 103FM radio and estimated - even before the announcement of the statement this evening - that MK Gideon Saar will run on a separate list. "In the upcoming election campaign, there will be an unprecedented split on the right, center and left," Lieberman said on 103FM - and explained: "The moment Gideon Saar attacks Netanyahu twice in a week, it is clear that he is not going to run in the internal Likud elections with all his dislike for Netanyahu. This is a sign that he has made a decision." According to Lieberman, Saar is considering establishing an independent list, and may add MKs Zvi Hauser and Yoaz Hendel to it. "As someone who knows his relationship with Hauser, my conclusion is that Saar will run at the head of a separate list on the infrastructure of Hauser and Hendel's Derech Eretz party. It is possible that more MKs from the Likud will join him - but it is clear that Saar is behind the decision. He is a smart and calculated guy and would not have come out to publicly attack Netanyahu otherwise." The Yisrael Beytenu chairman estimated in an interview that the elections will come before Passover. He surprised when he noted that the prime minister will not rule out forming a coalition with the support of an Arab party - something that Netanyahu himself accused the centrist parties of in previous campaigns: "Netanyahu, both now and after the elections, is also counting on a minority government. If he again reaches, as in the previous rounds, 59-60 seats and there are a lack of votes, he is locked in with Mansour Abbas, who will give him a safety net. He wants to prevent what happened, and so he is building an infrastructure and understanding with the Islamic list, and if it had worked out for him, he would also have gone for a minority government with Abbas' support." According to a report on Channel 13, MK Yifat Shasha-Biton is expected to join MK Gideon Sa'ar's new party later. MK Shlomo Karai responded: "It is unfortunate that someone who was the flesh and blood of the Likud movement decided to turn his back precisely during a time of crisis. The decision to join the 'Only Bibi' bloc arouses disgust among the right-wing public and will be reflected in the ballot box. If Sa'ar does indeed decide to leave, he must resign from the Knesset immediately and return the mandate to the Likud.".
