In recent days, as part of the wave of 'fake news' sweeping social media against the staff in the coronavirus wards, a message was circulated claiming that the rabbi of the 'Urdu community', Rabbi Tuvia Weiss, was subjected to humiliating treatment by the staff of the 'Hadassah Ein Kerem' hospital. The elderly rabbi was hospitalized in the coronavirus ward during the first wave of the pandemic.   The Gav"d's house disavowed the misleading information - and published a letter of denial. In a letter sent by the Gav"d's house trustee and secretary, Rabbi Amram Shapira, to Rabbi Moshe Klein, rabbi of the Hadassah Medical Center - he wrote: "In light of the various publications, I would like to clarify to the HaMachte that His Holiness the HaMachte received the treatment properly and with great devotion." He added and emphasized: "All the hospital staff devoted themselves wonderfully with close accompaniment, to making his stay in the hospital easier and to bringing about his speedy recovery with the help of God Almighty - and all other publications are fundamentally false." The letter is also signed by Rabbi Amram Mintzberg, the Gav"d's chief of police, and writes: "I also confirm the above.".
