Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto offers a new solution to eliminate the coronavirus pandemic: In a video posted by his followers on his Facebook page, he calls on his followers to purchase sackcloth and wear it - as our ancestors did in biblical times in times of trouble. "Sackcloth is a thing of Kabbalah from our holy ancestors," says Rabbi Pinto. "Our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, made a point of wearing sackcloth every time they had trouble and a problem. Just like our father Jacob, when he had a problem and they said to him, 'You devour Joseph,' he wore the sackcloth, and it became him and his sons and his sons' sons. His job was that every time they had a problem, they would wear sackcloth. That would get them out of their troubles." Rabbi Pinto mentions that Mordechai the Jew also wore sackcloth when the evil Haman sought to kill all the Jews. "Sackcloth and ashes will be offered to many. Tell everyone to put on sackcloth and ashes," says the rabbi, who was in prison and after his release moved to live abroad.
