Baruch Dayan, the true judge: Hacham Saleh Shemesh, a veteran of the city of Bnei Brak, passed away today (Thursday) at the age of 91 at the Tel Hashomer Hospital. Yesterday he was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and today, to the shock of his family, he passed away. The deceased, a native of Iraq, was born on Tevet 1949 to his father, Hacham Atlan, and his mother, Mrs. Katun, may God have mercy on him. Hacham Saleh was a well-known figure in Bnei Brak. He did manual labor for a living, but his acquaintances say he was a "hidden tzaddik." In the courtyard of his house on Zeitlin Street, a Mikveh Kelim operated that was open to all. He left behind a blessed generation of righteous people: sons and daughters-in-law and many descendants who follow in his footsteps. His grandson, journalist Michael Shemesh of Kan Hades, wrote on his Twitter account: "Blessed is the judge of truth. My grandfather, whom I loved and admired with every fiber of my soul, Hacham Saleh Shemesh, passed away at Tel Hashomer Hospital. "He was a righteous Jew, a man of kindness, pure and innocent. I don't have the strength to find any more words.".
