The planner and commander of the kidnapping and murder of the three boys was arrested

הותר לפרסום:  היום התיר השב"כ לפרסם כי לפני כשלושה שבועות נעצר חוסאם קוואסמה, תושב חברון, בחשד למעורבות בחטיפתם וברציחתם של שלושת הנערים גיל-עד שער, נפתלי פרנקל ואייל יפרח הי"ד. לאחר שנתגלו הגופות, בתום 18 ימי חיפושים, ניסה קוואסמה להימלט לירדן עם תעודות מזויפות בסיוע בני משפחתו. הוא נעצר בשכונת שועפאט בירושלים. בחקירתו הודה קוואסמה כי שימש כדרג מפקד למבצעי הפיגוע, מרוואן קוואסמה ועאמר אבו עיישה. הוא הוסיף כי  המימון לביצוע הפיגוע הגיע מאנשי חמאס ברצועת עזה. כזכור, חמאס הכחיש את מעורבותו בחטיפה. הדברים נחשפו בתשובת המדינה לבג"צ, לעתירה נגד הרס בתי המחבלים. על פי הדברים,"השיג חוסאם קוואסמה, מתוקף תפקידו, מימון לביצוע הפיגוע מפעילי חמאס ברצועת עזה, וכן הודה כי רכש אמצעי לחימה אותם העביר לידי מרוואן קוואסמה". קוואסמה הודה כי לאחר הרצח הגיע אליו מרוואן. השניים נסעו לחלקת אדמה אותה רכש חוסאם חודשים קודם לכן. שם קברו השניים את גופות החטופים ולאחר מכן סייע חוסאם לשני המחבלים להסתתר. שני המחבלים החשודים בביצוע החטיפה והרצח - מרוואן קוואסמה ועמאר אבו עיישה - טרם נעצרו, והמצוד אחריהם עדיין מתנהל. The Attorney General's Office intends to ask the Court to reject the petition without issuing a conditional order and to rule on it as soon as possible. Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri addressed this evening the claim that Hamas financed the kidnapping of the three boys: Hamas in Gaza denies any connection to financing Hussam Qawasmeh in order to carry out a kidnapping attack - as Israeli sources claim.
