The crisis: Only about half of the employees who applied for unemployment benefits returned to work

Only about half of the employees, on average, from all sectors of the economy, who applied for unemployment benefits due to the Corona crisis, returned to work.

This is according to data from the National Insurance Institute's research department, which was published today (Tuesday) on the B network.

The data shows that there is a partial return to work in all sectors of the economy, not just in sectors where strict restrictions have been imposed.

In the trade sector, which had the highest percentage of unemployment claimants - about 17.71% of all claims - 58.21% of employees returned to work.

The area where the smallest return was recorded is employees employed in households, where the percentage of people who returned to their workplace is 33.21%.

In the manufacturing sector, 55.61% of all unemployment seekers returned to work. In the food services sector, 451% returned to work.
