Likud folded: Zohar's new threat after failing against Shasha-Biton

Coalition Chairman, MK Mickey Zohar, today (Monday) addressed the Knesset Committee Chairman, MK Eitan Ginsburg, demanding that the committee convene immediately in order to remove the Chair of the Corona Committee, MK Yifat Shasha-Biton, from her position. Shasha-Biton aroused Zohar's wrath after she brought up the opening of swimming pools and gyms for a vote in the committee, and even supported the proposal - contrary to the position of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health. How can you become a programmer, paramedic, or multimedia producer without investing a single penny? Ginzburg rejected Zohar's request, saying that the committee could not be convened at any moment. Later, it was decided in the Likud that MK Shasha-Biton would not be removed from her position on the committee - but MK Zohar tweeted: "A short time ago, a conversation took place between the Prime Minister and Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin, together with me. At the end of the conversation, I decided that disciplinary measures will be taken against MK Shasha-Biton. Also, at this stage, no bills will be submitted to the Corona Committee, headed by MK Shasha-Biton, for discussion until further notice." In a briefing by a senior Likud official earlier, he accused: "Unfortunately, Yifat Shasha Biton succumbed to pressure from lobbyists representing the gyms. That's why she didn't even agree to close for 24 hours. All the experts from the Ministry of Health warned that gyms are a real danger of infection because the virus is also transmitted through sweat, so masks are no solution. In such a situation, it is impossible to move on to the agenda, so she will be suspended from her position for a while." Likud may have dropped out of the impeachment process, after the Blue and White faction announced that it would not support her impeachment.
