Continues to rise: Active patients surpassed the number of recoveries this morning

For the first time since the second wave of the coronavirus: The number of active patients exceeded the number of recoveries last night. The National Information and Knowledge Center for the Corona Campaign published new data regarding the coronavirus disease in Israel this morning (Monday), updated as of midnight Sunday night. The data shows that after 1,135 new patients were added in the past 24 hours, the number of active patients now stands at 19,600 people, compared to the number of recoveries, which stands at 19,267. The data also shows that the number of patients hospitalized in serious condition has increased by 15 patients in the past 24 hours and now stands at 147 people, an increase of more than 11 percent per day. The total number of deaths from the coronavirus stands at 362 people. The report also noted that the average daily growth rate is 3 percent, a decrease of one percent compared to yesterday, and that since the pandemic began, 1,120,592 coronavirus tests have been performed in the State of Israel, with 19,189 tests being performed yesterday alone. According to the report, the active coronavirus disease centers in the past 24 hours are: Lod, Ramla, Kiryat Malachi, Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Beitar Illit, Kassifa, Bnei Brak, Tel Aviv-Yafo and Kiryat Ata, which appeared on the map of the number of cases for the first time last night. The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Professor Hezi Levy, was interviewed this morning on the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation and said: "We have increased to 27,000 tests and we plan to increase even more. We do not intend to reduce the number of tests in any way, but we will prioritize them in order to reach people who need to be tested more quickly.".
