A 16-year-old ultra-Orthodox boy was seriously injured at noon (Sunday) and two others were slightly injured in a self-inflicted accident while riding an off-road vehicle on the banks of the Jordan River, near the Yesod HaMa'ale Foundation. The boy, a resident of Haifa, went out with friends for a walk. Rescue workers and paramedics provided him with medical treatment at the scene - and he was airlifted to the hospital by helicopter. Avichai Dadon and Mordechai Arama, paramedics at the United Hatzalah - said: "This was a self-inflicted accident - a jeep that overturned. We provided first aid at the scene of the accident to the seriously injured man and two other slightly injured men. The seriously injured man was airlifted to the hospital by helicopter. Fire crews were on scene due to the nature of the accident." A senior medic on an MDA motorcycle, Yigal Ben Odiz, said: "The injured man was lying unconscious on the ground near the jeep, suffering from a head injury. "During the medical treatment, which included immobilizations and ventilation, we transmitted a report to the MDA hotline in order to launch the MDA northern helicopter and coordinate the connection point. The injured person was transferred to the helicopter in serious and stable condition and is being evacuated to the hospital while continuing medical treatment." The police reported: A short time ago, near the Yesod Hamaala settlement, on the slopes of the Jordan River, a self-inflicted car accident involving a jeep occurred. Initial reports indicate that a 16-year-old passenger was seriously injured - according to medical sources, and will be evacuated by helicopter to the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa. 6 additional people were slightly injured. Upon receiving the report, police forces were called to the scene, traffic investigators were on their way to the scene to collect the findings and examine the circumstances of the accident.
