Rabbi Mazuz, head of the 'Kesa Rachamim' yeshiva, rejects the voices from within the Haredi sector who claim that the lockdown on the city of Elad was imposed out of hatred for the Haredi. "People are disrespecting Corona, and this matter should not be disrespected, especially in places where Torah and mitzvot are observed. Why would they say, 'You see, what good did their Torah and mitzvot do for them?'" Rabbi Mazuz said in his class. "And besides, they are committing an offense, against themselves, and also against others, and also against God, who commanded us, 'And you shall be very careful for yourselves.' A person who does such a thing will not think that this is an offense that only causes harm, but it is also blasphemy, for they will say, 'Here are the Bnei Brak people, God forbid, he ascended to heaven, and in Elad he ascended to heaven.'" The Rosh Yeshiva addressed the lockdown of the city of Elad: "There are people like us, they have stupid questions about why they didn't lock down such and such a city, like they did to us?! But hear me out, they hate us. What fools, on the contrary, they love us. "If in other cities maybe there is a different reason, maybe there they are not yet isolated according to the number of patients, whether it increases and decreases and increases, they have their own reasons." The rabbi added: "We need to know what the reasons are? We know that here in this city or in another city of Haredim, we need to keep 'I am the king's mouth guarded,' as it is written in the Book of Ecclesiastes: It is forbidden to do such things...".
