Terrorists threw a stone from a bridge at a vehicle that was driving under them about a month ago, in the Beit Hanina neighborhood of Jerusalem. The stone hit the vehicle's windshield and caused damage. The driver of the vehicle filed a complaint at the Moriah police station in Jerusalem, but so far no arrests of suspects have been reported.
Now, her lawyer Haim Bleicher is asking the Honenu organization that the police do everything necessary to bring the terrorists to justice.
The driver, a teacher by profession who commutes to work in Pisgat Ze'ev via the Ben Zion Interchange every day, described what happened: "I finished teaching and headed back towards the apartment, at a quarter to one in the afternoon. On the bridge I see a boy waving his hand and seconds after that I heard a boom. That's when I realized he threw a stone at me.".
The driver panicked: "It was really scary and frightening. I just wanted to get away from there, it's never happened to me before, and I drive there regularly, it's not a dangerous route. There was a taxi driver there who helped me call the police and checked that I was okay.".
The driver then filed a complaint with the police, where they questioned her about the incident and gave her a property tax receipt. She has not heard from them since. At the same time, the driver called the Honenu organization's stone-throwing hotline to inform them about the stone-throwing in the capital.
In a letter sent by Attorney Bleicher of the Honenu organization to the Jerusalem police, he described the attack: "On May 14, 2020, terrorists threw a stone at my client while she was driving her vehicle on Highway 4197 (Abd al-Hamid Shuman St.). The stone was thrown from a bridge over the road. The stone hit the vehicle's windshield and damaged the windshield.".
The letter further described: "Miraculously, despite the great panic, the serious incident ended without bodily harm or loss of control, but with great trauma for my client. A taxi driver who was an eyewitness helped her pull over and report.".
Attorney Bleicher noted in the letter: "Unfortunately, in recent days we have witnessed sevenfold that throwing stones can kill, even more so when it comes to throwing from a height at a moving vehicle. I will ask that everything necessary be done to bring the terrorists to justice for attempted murder/throwing a stone at a means of transportation with the aim of harming a passenger.".
Attorney Bleicher requested to collect information from the security cameras at the scene, and to conduct intelligence operations as necessary in order to capture the terrorists.
