Media personality Israel Frei, a journalist for Kav Yarash, was fired from his job today (Sunday). In a tweet he posted on his Twitter account, he wrote: "The Kahanists succeeded. They fired me two months ago. An organized struggle was launched against me. I thought it would be okay, but they didn't let up. Hundreds of messages to my publisher, threats of boycott, pressure and what not. You succeeded but you didn't win. I promise to continue. With all my might. "I have reflections and pain, for now I will keep them to myself. Thank you to those who supported me, I forgive those who rejoiced for Idi." Frei, who also writes on the website 'The Hottest Place in Hell,' wrote in early May on his Twitter account about an ad published by a group of rabbis: "A group of rioters is throwing Molotov cocktails at soldiers, stealing equipment, burning vehicles, violently attacking innocent people - and what do the rabbis have to say? 'We call on the government to stop the predatory attack on the pioneers.' Listen to me, dear rabbis, you are a bunch of scum." Among the rabbis who signed the ad were Rabbi Dov Lior, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburg and others. Attorney Itamar Ben Gvir responded at the time: "Disgusting! The people of Komi Uri are the pioneers of our time and no one has claimed against them what you claim. If I were them, I would take you to court and teach you that when you slander, you pay.... By the way, your language is so disgusting that I hope your editor, who I know as a righteous, honest and wise man, will send you home. Anyone who speaks such language has no place in a Haredi newspaper.". The Press Line responded at the time: "The network disavows Israel Fry's private tweet. It was made clear to the reporter who was on leave that his actions were unacceptable. We see the highest value in respecting rabbis and renounce derogatory nicknames towards any person, certainly towards rabbis. Upon Mr. Frey's return from leave, a severe and harsh disciplinary investigation will be conducted.".
