Baruch Dayan, the truth teller: At Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, the 71-year-old Rabbi Yehoshua Israel Goldschmid, head of the Tal Torah kollel, died today (Wednesday) after contracting the coronavirus. The deceased contracted the virus after Passover and was hospitalized in serious condition in the hospital, where he died today, after suffering from several underlying illnesses. The deceased was born in 1959 to his father, Rabbi Avraham Eliezer Goldschmid and his mother, Mrs. Rivka Tamar Reisel Chaya. In his youth, he studied at the Hebron Yeshiva in Jerusalem, and when he reached adulthood, he married his wife, Mrs. Chaya, daughter of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yaakov Yitzhak of Lelov-Yerushalim zt"l. He served as one of the heads of the Tal Torah kollel in Jerusalem, and was a close associate of the Grach Greinman zt"l. He was blessed and left behind a blessed generation of righteous people - 13 children, sons and daughters, sons-in-law and descendants who continue his path. His father-in-law, the Gaon Rabbi Yitzhak Meir Rotenberg zt"l, passed away a month and a half ago - also from the virus. Two months ago, his brother-in-law, the late Rabbi Yaakov Meizlish, passed away. The funeral procession will leave tonight at 9:30 PM from the Shamgar Funeral Home in Jerusalem for Har Hamenuchot, where he will be buried. Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital reported: In the infectious diseases complex in the respiratory intensive care unit, a 71-year-old man, a coronavirus patient who suffered from several underlying diseases and had been on a ventilator and sedated in very serious condition for over a month, passed away. Hadassah teams allowed his family members to say goodbye to him inside the unit in full protection.
