Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei also attacked Israel with inflammatory statements - against the backdrop of Iran's Jerusalem Day.
In his remarks, Khamenei said: "Israel is a cancerous growth in the heart of the Middle East, the Zionist occupation is a tragedy.".
He added that the establishment of the state is "among the greatest crimes against humanity in recent times. There is no crime that compares to it, neither in its scope nor in its severity. However, the resistance front is growing stronger, while the Zionist army is forced to retreat from Lebanon and Gaza.".
He said, "The old Zionist virus will not remain for long. The Zionist regime will be destroyed. The goal of Zionist policy is to send Palestine into the depths of Muslim oblivion," Khamenei added. "But Palestine is not something that the Islamic nations will forget, even if the United States and its proxies use all the money in the world.".
In his remarks, Khamenei attacked the authorities in Arab countries, saying: "Most governments gradually surrendered, especially after the American invasion of the region. They forgot their human, Islamic and political responsibilities, and most of all, they forgot their Arab pride.".
Prime Minister Netanyahu said in response to the words of Iran's supreme leader: "We repeat - whoever threatens Israel with the danger of annihilation places himself in a similar danger.".
