The heads of the Hebron Yeshiva and the yeshiva superintendent sent a letter this morning to approximately 1,000 students, in which they warn: "From now on, anyone who is rumored to be inciting or harming one of the yeshiva heads will not be allowed to attend the yeshiva, without legal action." "Anyone who possesses a non-kosher telephone will not be allowed to attend the yeshiva""

The heads of the Hebron yeshiva are uniting against the rebellion of the yeshiva's young men, which escalated to the point of distributing paschoils and spraying graffiti, against the yeshiva's director, Rabbi Yossi Hebroni, and against the yeshiva's decision to cancel the custom of 'Purim Rav' on the holiday of Purim. Following the rebellion that broke out, eight young men were expelled from the yeshiva, suspected of carrying out some of the acts. Among those expelled were also grandchildren of the yeshiva's heads, Rabbis Farbstein and Rabbi Toker. Since the rebellion broke out, and after a stay abroad, Rabbi Hebroni has not returned to the yeshiva's grounds, due to concerns about what might happen if he appeared in the yeshiva. As you may recall, at the end of the winter period, the yeshiva's heads visited Rabbi Steinman several times to try and reach a compromise. This was finally reached, according to which four young men would be returned in the month of Iyar, and four more would be returned in the month of Elul. This was on the condition that complete quiet would be maintained during the 'summer period'. In a letter that arrived this morning to approximately 1,000 yeshiva students, the yeshiva's leaders, Har"sh Katz, Har"d Cohen, Har"m Farbstein, Har"i Hevroni, and the Masgid Gar"i Kaplan write: "We are aware that individuals, some known and some unknown among the yeshiva's members, have committed acts that have harmed the spirit and character of the yeshiva and have harmed the yeshiva's leaders, and the insulting 18 has no cure for its wound, especially since in this they have slandered the yeshiva's leaders. "The soul of every Torah follower is abhorrent to any act that contradicts the essence, character, and spirit of the yeshiva. We condemn these acts and announce that from now on and in the future, anyone who is ever heard of inciting or harming one of the yeshiva's leaders, Shlita, will have no place in the yeshiva and there will be no discussion about it." "We hope that we will return to the glory of the yeshiva with a loftiness and greatness as was the aspiration of our rabbis, the founders of the yeshiva." We are taking this opportunity to strengthen the yeshiva regulations. The yeshiva regulations are that anyone who has a non-kosher telephone device or a non-kosher line, something that is in the soul of you, the yeshiva students and the soul of the yeshiva, will not have his place in the yeshiva without any permission or exception, and the yeshiva administration is careful and will be careful about this with all force, "in the prayer that love, brotherhood, peace and companionship will prevail in the yeshiva." Signed by the heads of the yeshiva.
