Almost 150 boys a year participate in the 'Bar Mitzvah Institute' project at the Chabad House in Kfar Saba, which has been operating for nearly 30 years.

Over the years, they've seen everything there: bar mitzvahs for orphans, for boys with special needs, for twins - and even for triplets together.

However, last week, during the Bar Mitzvah and Aliyah ceremony of the young man Shawn Gordantzky, whose father Alex serves as a senior political strategist and is considered one of the most senior publicists in the Russian sector in Israel - an unusual event occurred there.

""Alex said that at the age of 13 he did not get to celebrate a Bar Mitzvah, even though his family on all sides has deep Jewish roots and speaks fluent Yiddish," the emissary, Rabbi Yosef Yitzhak Lipkin, told the weekly news outlet 'Kfar Chabad.' "The celebration immediately turned into a Bar Mitzvah party for the father, who also adorned himself with tefillin.

""Later, two more 'sons-in-law' joined, when it turned out that the two grandfathers were also 'scalps' who were now putting on tefillin for the first time in their lives. They recited the Shema while their voices choked with tears of excitement.".

By the way, Alex Gordantzky worked for the Shinui Party in 2003, then led by Tommy Lapid.
