Fear of revenge: Those who suffer most from the disturbances that broke out after the kidnapping and murder of the teenager Muhammad Abu Khdeir last Wednesday are the residents of the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood in Jerusalem, located near the Shuafat neighborhood.

The arrest of the six who allegedly committed the murder, as well as the explosive situation, led all the rabbis of the Haredi neighborhood to publish a special letter to the neighborhood's residents this morning (Monday), in an attempt to calm the situation.

The rabbis explain that "the situation is sensitive and explosive" and appeal: "We are in a difficult time, when our haters have raised their heads and murdered three of our brothers, the Jewish people. And the unrest in everyone's heart is understandable and known. But we are committed to the Torah of the Living God, our path is not theirs, and the Lord is easy to take revenge, while we must not be drawn into violence of any kind.

""And here we are living next door to the Bnei Ishmael neighborhood, and the situation is sensitive and explosive, and we could easily be dragged into a difficult situation.".

The rabbis' concern is about teenagers going out to attack Arabs near the neighborhood - and they warn: "Therefore, we ask and warn both teenagers and adults not to behave in any way with violence and force against anyone, and it is absolutely forbidden to be complicit in any act of provocation against nations, which brings great hatred to all of Israel and in particular to our neighborhoods. And we fear disasters after which who will correct us?".

The rabbis warn and demand that you not approach the hot spots of friction with the neighboring neighborhood: "Especially recently, with the outbreak of riots in the Shuafat neighborhood that borders us, we ask that you warn both adults and children, as well as the curious, not to approach the border and friction areas.

""Hold on a little until the wrath passes. Our duty at this time is to strengthen ourselves in Torah and mitzvot and good deeds, between man and place and between man and his fellow man, and the destroyer will not come near us," all the rabbis of the neighborhood conclude their letter.

The management of the Ramat Shlomo Community Administration also signed the letter and promises: "to endeavor to enforce this matter with all its might.".
