The murderous attacks of the past two weeks have sparked strong protests over the deteriorating security situation. There is no heart that has not cringed at the murder of an unborn baby and the fall of two young soldiers.
And yet, it is not right to examine reality based on the extent of the terrorists' success.
We went through weeks and months in which the security situation did not open up any news. We were dealing with much more important matters – the dormitory affair, for example. But in those days, the terrorists were actually trying to carry out extremely serious bomb attacks. The head of the Shin Bet revealed that in the past year, security forces have thwarted 480 terror attacks in Judea and Samaria.
Do you understand the meaning of this horrifying number?
If they had succeeded in their plots, there would be more than one murderous attack here every day (God forbid). The security forces work day and night to thwart these organizations, but there is no doubt that there is a divine hand here that protects the people of Israel and thwarts the counsel of our enemies.
The Guardian of Israel will not sleep.
Humans are required to act with earthly and natural tools, but success depends on the blessing of Heaven. Some call it luck. We call it divine providence. When there is blessing and assistance from above, natural efforts achieve success, sometimes above the path of nature. However, in the absence of the blessing of Heaven, even the best plan can go awry and end in failure.
Thwarting 480 terrorist attacks in a year – this is a completely supernatural success, testifying to the protection that our Father in heaven protects and guards us. Before us is a miraculous illustration of the verse, "Behold, the Keeper of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." This is the true 'Iron Dome' that the Creator extends over His people, against the schemes of His enemies.
We saw this miraculous umbrella of protection in the Gulf War. 39 Scud missiles were fired from Iraq during the war and were aimed at dense population centers, yet the casualties were few. The media published incredible stories of missiles exploding and collapsing entire buildings, and families emerging from the rubble with relatively minor injuries. There were missiles that penetrated buildings and did not explode.
Those who did not understand the magnitude of the miracle were illustrated when a single Iraqi Scud missile was launched at an American post in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, killing 28 people.

The recent successes of the terrorists should make us think. Reality proves that every time there was talk (and sometimes action) about the withdrawal of terrorists from the Land of Israel and the handing over of territories to the Arabs, the attacks increased.
This was after the Oslo Accords. This was after the second Camp David Conference. This was after the announcement of the 'disengagement' from the Gaza Strip.
And so, unfortunately, is happening now, when giant signs are displayed in the streets of cities calling for more and more withdrawals and the establishment of a terrorist state in the heart of our country. With foreign funding, they are carrying out delusional propaganda here, which defies all logic, aimed at replicating the tremendous 'success' of the withdrawal from the Gaza Strip to the regions of Judea and Samaria, so that every home in Israel will be threatened with missiles like the settlements surrounding Gaza.
Unfortunately, it turns out that this very talk undermines the heavenly protection of the people of Israel. We must reject with contempt all this vain talk, and make it clear that this is our land and our inheritance, and we will never move from here.
