It is unfortunate to see propaganda assets being thrown at us, but for some reason they remain on the ground, like a stone that cannot be turned.
This was the Palestinian Authority's response to the approval of the law that would deduct from the funds transferred to the Authority the funds it pays to the families of terrorists. The incredibly brazen response was published as if it were a trivial matter, while it exposed the lying and murderous face of the same authority that signed a peace agreement with us.
Since the Oslo Accords, the Palestinian Authority has been playing a double game: towards Israel and the world, it makes declarations of peace, while to the Arab public it conveys messages that encourage terror and murder, and that are unwilling to recognize the right to exist of a Jewish state.
Every time this double-tonguing is exposed, we get a bunch of explanations: You didn't understand the complexity of the Arabic language. When we said jihad, we meant ideological jihad. It's not us, it's the rebellious factions. We condemn terrorism, and our struggle is only peaceful. And so on and so forth.
Terrorist authority
It is precisely the attitude toward terrorists, murderers of people, women, and children, that illustrates the true positions most of all.
These are terrorists who murdered Jews after the Oslo Accords were signed. If the Palestinian Authority was truly sincere in its intention to stop the path of terror, it should have conveyed a simple and clear message to its people – the era of terror has come to an end. From now on, whoever murders Jews is not acting on behalf of the Arab people.
For years, our intelligence agencies have been searching for evidence that the ongoing terrorism was directed by the Palestinian Authority itself, and the evidence was not always unequivocal.
But why look away? Standing behind the abominable terrorists is the clearest and most striking proof.
A spokesman for the Palestinian Authority chairman commented on the law: "This is a declaration of war against the Palestinian people, its fighters, its prisoners and its dead, who carried the banner of freedom for Jerusalem and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state.".
The message has one and only one meaning – the murderers of the Fogel family in Itamar, the terrorist who slaughtered the members of the Solomon family in Halamish, the kidnappers of the three boys, and thousands of other cruel terrorists, are actually 'fighters' on behalf of the Palestinian Authority. In the eyes of the same authority that signed a peace agreement with us, they are 'bearers of the flag of freedom.' The obvious conclusion is that this authority is a terrorist authority for all intents and purposes.
Peace will not grow from this.
It all starts with the terminology used, and it is difficult to understand how the Israeli media is aiding this fraud.
The repeated use of the term 'prisoners' is misleading. These are not prisoners, but cruel terrorists, despicable murderers, scum of humanity. Those who pay salaries to their families and fight for their release are no less vile than them.
And perhaps the indifference with which such statements are received indicates that there is really no surprise here.
If in the past we believed that parts of the Israeli public were tempted to believe the 'peace' declarations of Arafat and his gang, and therefore supported the Oslo Accords, today no one truly believes in their peace intentions. Those who continue to advocate a 'political move' against them know that peace will not come from it. So why continue with a move that is all lies and deceit - believers in the 'religion of peace' have solutions.
