Following incorrect publications regarding the marriage permit of the woman who refused a divorce by the Regional Rabbinical Court in Haifa - this morning (Thursday), the administration of the Rabbinical Courts is publishing an unusual clarification:

"The information published last night in the 'Mood' newsletter is complete fake news. Below are the facts and reliable information from the verdict:

'Ad Kiddushin' was a religious man who grew up in a Torah-observant family and received religious education, and for a short period even studied in a yeshiva.

At the time he was a witness, he had already left the "religion" and lived a life that was completely and clearly contrary to the Torah and commandments: he publicly desecrated the Sabbath "with a slanderous tone," including lighting lights on the Sabbath, cooking and driving on the Sabbath, and at one point even worked as a lifeguard on the Sabbath. He had full marital relations with women, and in his testimony to the court he said that "I was aware of the prohibition of niddah, but it did not bother me."

Although he came to the wedding as a witness wearing a kippah, at Oded Ges' request, and Rabbi Uri Sharki, who arranged the kiddushin, did not know this, his friends certainly knew that he was far from being a "Torah and mitzvot-observant" Jew - even in the "light" definition.

Two of his apartment friends also came to the court, who testified to his complete violation of the Sabbath and to the fact that he had "committed fornication," as defined by Jewish law.

The real story is far from just a matter of 'not keeping in touch'.

"The rumor spreaders do not know and cannot know what the testimonies were and what is written in the verdict, because the verdict, for now, is confidential and not disclosed even to the parties to the case."
