An explosive device exploded this morning (Friday) near a kibbutz in the Eshkol Regional Council. Apparently, there were no casualties on the Israeli side.
An IDF force was rushed to the scene and began exchanging fire at suspicious points beyond the perimeter fence in the Gaza Strip.
According to Palestinian reports, four people were injured, two of them seriously, by IDF fire at them.
Last week, there was a flare-up in the southern sector: On Tuesday evening, five rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards southern communities. One of the rockets exploded in the Sdot Negev Regional Council. There were no casualties, but minor damage was caused.
The Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted two more rockets over Ashkelon, and two more exploded in the Gaza Strip. In response to the fire, IAF aircraft attacked seven targets across the Gaza Strip, including rocket launchers and a weapons production site. The IAF attacked five rocket launchers in the northern Gaza Strip, a center of terrorist activity in its center, and a weapons production site in the south. Accurate hits on the targets were identified.
