Rosh Yeshiva of the Chair of Mercy, the Rabbi of Mazuz, wrote a special letter about the recruitment of girls and refers to the rally held by rabbis.

The GRA refers to the decision of the Jerusalem Recruitment Bureau - as revealed in Haredim 10 - according to which seminary girls are required to report to the bureau in person and not to confirm exemption by receiving registered mail or courier. "I read all the words of the rabbis at the rally that was held on the night of Yod Shevat against the recruitment of girls - and the words are incendiary. For several years, the girl who enlists has had to send an affidavit signed by a rabbi or an attorney that she is a member of the military service, and nothing more. Now they are required to appear at the recruitment bureau and talk about a man enlisting in all kinds of temptations. And what will the girl do and not sin?"

The head of the yeshiva adds: "I remember from 65 years ago in the issues of 'Homatnu' that would come to us abroad, where a girl was asked why they do 'Yachat' on Passover night, and she didn't know. She was immediately declared secular. And about thirty years ago, a girl, the daughter of a rabbi (apparently Rabbi Barzani) was asked what days of the year the shofar is blown, and she answered on Rosh Hashanah and on Hoshana Rabbah. And she was recruited by force. And the questioners did not know that there is a custom among us and among some Eastern communities to blow the shofar on Hoshana Rabbah. And it was also printed in the Machzor for three feet for Yavarnu. Because then they let go of it."

The rabbi emphasizes: "Little 'foxes' are sabotaging vineyards. Yes, regarding the conscription of yeshiva students, no matter how heavy the burden you place on them, the exact opposite will happen. You are giving a hand to the 'Yerushalmi faction' to demonstrate in the streets of Jerusalem against conscription. The use of force will not help, but will harm (for those who remember the days of 'Lapid' burning like torches). But we believe that reason and intelligence will prevail over force of arms. And we will stop fighting each other, each against his brother and each against his neighbor. And may God bless His people with peace at home and abroad, Amen."
