Urgent meeting in the Haredi community amid the Cinema City controversy: Yesterday (Sunday), the Haredi community's management held a meeting that was defined as "urgent", following the petition submitted by secular movements to open Cinema City on Shabbat.
At the meeting, it was decided that if the center opens, the 'community' will respond with a series of demonstrations, "We will not sit quietly in the face of shameful Sabbath desecrations, which are being carried out in collaboration with the Haredi representatives who sit in the Jerusalem Municipality.".
The management of the 'Ultra-Orthodox Community' has not met for some time due to the serious disagreements surrounding construction in the 'Golovnatzitz Complex' in Beit Shemesh. Now, with the submission of the petition, the members were called to a meeting, and the management reconvened.
The petition was filed by the 'Awakening' movement against the municipality and the Ministry of Finance, demanding that the center be opened on Shabbat. The complex is currently closed on Shabbat, and the court ruled in response to the petition that the owners of the complex, the municipality, and the Ministry of Finance must negotiate, which will be subject to approval by the municipal council - which will apparently not rush to approve any opening on Shabbat.
