Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri responded this afternoon (Thursday) to the resignation of the chairman of the Shas faction in the Knesset. "I thank my friend and fellow MK Ariel Atias for his great contribution to the Shas movement in particular and to the State of Israel in general. Ariel has helped me skillfully and skillfully navigate the Shas movement over the past year and a half. "As we agreed between us, Ariel will continue to take part in the leadership of the movement, and will return to the Knesset list for the next elections. We wish him success in everything he does." Atias's face, as previously reported, is business. Deri then addressed Shas' new MK - Yoav Ben Tzur, who previously headed Shas's Torah education network. "I welcome Rabbi Yoav Ben Tzur as he begins his term in the Knesset," Deri said. "Yoav has extensive experience in public work and is very sensitive to the weaker sections of society. I am confident that his contribution will be great and significant for the citizens of Israel." The chairman of the Shas faction in the Knesset, MK Ariel Atias, announced at noon to members of the Shas Council of Torah Sages and the movement's chairman, Aryeh Deri, that he had decided to resign from his position in the Knesset. Atias promised the rabbis that he would continue to stand to the right of Shas and that he would engage in public activity on its behalf, even outside the political system. In the afternoon, Atias arrived at the Knesset Speaker, MK Yuli Edelstein, and submitted his resignation letter to him - which will take effect this coming Sunday. Yoav Ben-Zur will be sworn into the Knesset this coming Monday.
