A 30-year-old woman was critically injured this evening (Monday) and later died from her injuries, in a fatal car accident that occurred between two private vehicles at the exit from Beersheba on Highway 40, near the Goral Intersection. A one-year-old baby girl who was with her in the car was also critically injured, and after attempts at resuscitation by MDA medics and paramedics, they were left with no choice but to declare her dead. An initial investigation into the details of the incident indicates that one of the vehicles collided violently with the other vehicle that was standing on the side of the road. MDA paramedics Shani Gamliel and Oren Wecht said: "When we arrived at the scene, the view was difficult. We saw a crushed private vehicle near the safety barrier and outside the vehicle, a woman about 30 years old and a one-year-old baby, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, with multiple systemic injuries. "With the assistance of a pediatrician from Soroka Hospital who happened to be on the scene, we provided life-saving medical treatment and performed advanced and prolonged resuscitation measures, and put them on mobile intensive care units and evacuated them to the hospital in critical condition." The police, who were called to the scene, arrived quickly and began investigating the accident.
