This Thursday, a "Wings Parade" ceremony will be held for the 174th class of the Air Force Pilot Course, in the presence of President Reuven (Rubi) Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, and Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel. Ahead of the ceremony, the IDF published data about the course graduates: • 46% of the graduates live in cities, 30% live in community settlements and 22% are from moshavim. • 46% of the course graduates come from the north of the country, 46% from the central region and 8% from the southern region. • 51% of the graduates chose to study in high school in a realist major, 32% combined humanities and realist studies and 17% of the graduates studied in a humanities major only. • 22% of the course graduates are the eldest children in their families, 54% are the middle children in their families, 21% are the youngest children in their families and 3% are only children. 11% of the course graduates are not the first in their families to receive their pilot's wings. • 71% of the graduates took part in activities in various youth movements, 48% of the graduates are graduates of a service year or pre-military preparatory school, and 14% of the graduates are graduates of Seder yeshiva. • In the academic year in the course where the cadets study for a bachelor's degree, 22% of the graduates of the course chose a degree in information systems management, 24% a degree in economics and management, 30% a degree in politics and government, and 24% chose to study for a degree in mathematics and computer science. • 8% of the graduates were not born in Israel (in Italy, Spain, and the USA). • 15% of the trainees who started the flight course will stand on the parade ground on Thursday and receive their flight wings.
