''Mtsokim' is the first single by the band 'A-Brook', from a unique and fascinating musical project, in which they combine texts from the sources alongside poetry with poetic motifs and ethnic melodies, within the envelope of Western, modern and contemporary rock music.
''Babarock' is a musical ensemble consisting of six talented musicians who have been working together for about two years.
It all started with lead guitarist Yigal Israeli, a Barclays graduate who worked with top-notch artists including Miki Gavrielov, Ricky Gal, Zvika Pick, Manny Bager, Dafna Armoni, Dori Ben Zeev, and more. Following the death of his parents, he began attending the local synagogue in his city of Modi'in, where he met the band's lead singer Yossi Toito, and was moved by his voice and vocal abilities.
Yossi made aliyah about 10 years ago from France, where he was the lead singer of a famous band in Paris, and managed to perform in front of the King of Morocco and alongside great singers such as Enrique Macias, and alongside the great Hasidic singer Mordechai Ben David.
The two, who founded this unique project, were soon joined by Oshri Bukbaza, the talented drummer, who brought with him Eran Levy, the bassist, Rami Zakkaim, the wonderful oud player, and Guy Levy, the keyboardist, who added another exciting dimension to the harmony.
The result is songs from the world of Jewish content with Western rock rhythms, using traditional instruments of oud, violin, cello, viola and Ney flute, with an emphasis on a modern and fresh sound, which pays respect to the texts from the original world.
