Former Minister Gideon Saar, who this week announced his return to political life after a two and a half year 'break', came to Rabbi Kanievsky today (Wednesday) at his home on Rashbam Street in Bnei Brak - to receive a blessing. Saar told the Rabbi that after two years and his father-in-law's retirement from politics, this week he announced that he was returning to take care of the Jewish people and the Jewish tradition. The former minister emphasized that the issue of 'Vehagad to your son' - passing on the Jewish tradition from generation to generation - is important to him. The Rabbi warmly greeted him and wished him success in all his endeavors. Rabbi Aryeh Kanievsky, the grandson and trustee of the Rabbi's house, who coordinated the meeting, told the Maran that Gideon Saar was very supportive and helpful in all his roles for Judaism, and worked for the observance of Shabbat and the Shmita. The Rabbi responded warmly and shook Saar's hand and encouraged him to continue on his path.
