After a TV channel close to Assad and Hezbollah published photos of an Israeli Sky Rider drone that was allegedly "shot down by Assad's army in the suburbs of Quneitra," the IDF confirmed that a drone had indeed been shot down in Syria, but the circumstances are being investigated.

An IDF spokesman confirmed today (Monday) that an Israeli Sky Rider drone fell in Syrian territory.

According to a report on Hezbollah's Al-Manar television network, the aircraft entered Syrian airspace - and was shot down over the village of Samdaniya al-Sharqiya in the Quneitra region. The channel even published photos of the drone, which allegedly indicate that it was a 'sky rider'.

The IDF, as mentioned, confirmed the downing of the drone and stated that "the circumstances are being examined." It was emphasized that there is no concern about information leaking from the aircraft.

In the photos published in Al Manar, the Elbit company logo appears on the aircraft, but it is not clear whether it was intercepted in recent days, or whether it is the same aircraft that fell in the same area about two months ago, and is only now being displayed by the terrorist organization.

It should be noted that the IDF's unmanned aerial vehicles have a mechanism that does not allow them to be operated after being intercepted.
