Abomination Beach: The storm over the opening of the youth beach in Jerusalem continues to make waves, a letter from the rabbis of the Old City was sent today to Jerusalem council members. An anonymous letter was also sent against Mayor Nir Barkat.

The letter, written by the rabbi of the Old City, Rabbi Avigdor Nebenzel, is addressed to "the honorable members of the city council and the city administration, and to all those involved and standing guard.".

The letter states: "Since the Jerusalem Municipality is composed of observant representatives, I would like to ask each and every one of you to stand firm and prevent the desecration of the Sabbath that is taking place in the Rahal train station complex. And Jerusalem was not destroyed except because the Sabbath was desecrated in it, and the prophet Jeremiah rebukes Israel for observing the Sabbath at the gates of Jerusalem, so as not to cause the destruction of the city, God willing. The people of the Seven Temples, wake up and awaken to this great breach, and each and every one of you must act and not remain silent until this disgrace is removed.".

""Additionally, there has recently been a terrible burglary in the aforementioned complex. We must also wake up, protest, and act to stop this as soon as possible. Anyone who has the fear of God in their hearts understands how much they must act so that our Holy City will no longer be humiliated, and to immediately remove this terrible burglary from the palace of a king.".

Rabbi Nebenzel concludes, "And with this we will be worthy to see the building of Jerusalem, and all who mourn for Jerusalem will be worthy to see its building soon in our days, Amen. And if Israel had not kept two Sabbaths as they have, we would have been redeemed soon in our days, Amen.".

The letter is signed by the Gra"a Nebentzel, the Gaon Rabbi Simcha HaCohen Kook, rabbi of Rehovot and rabbi of the Hurva Synagogue, Rabbi Eliyahu Medina, the Sephardi rabbi of the district, and Rabbi Nachum Neriah.

In addition, a letter of supposed invitation in the name of Mayor Barkat was attached, in which Barkat supposedly invites the residents, "Arabs, Christians and Jews," to a "wild party," and here comes a description of the party.

At the bottom of the letter, a sting is sent to the Haredi council members, "who continue to remain silent about the surprising agreement.".
