When Ahmed Tibi demonstrated the proficiency of a scholar: An amusing Twitter exchange between two Knesset members - from opposite ends of the political map.

The correspondence began after the Knesset member from the Joint Arab List referred to the winter storm that is hitting Israel - and tweeted: "Only those to whom the country does not belong are capable of flooding it. Death to the clouds.".

Tibi's comments came against the backdrop of statements by right-wing Knesset members who accused the Arabs of starting the fires, with Bennett even explicitly hinting: "Only someone whose land is not theirs is capable of burning it.".

But then Knesset member Bezalel Smotrich from your Jewish home intervened and responded: "Turn around, Ahmed. Only those whose land is theirs can, thanks to their good deeds, deserve that God will send rain for them. 'And it was a mother of hearing...for love...and for serving Him...and I gave rain to your land in its season.'".

At this point, Tibi revealed a surprising knowledge of the Torah - and tweeted back: "So how do you explain the fact that this winter is starting very late? Maybe it has to do with the verse 'Take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be deceived and you turn away... and shut up the heavens so that there is no rain'"...
