Surrender and publish: After refusing to disclose his wealth declaration, following the other candidates, Meir Sheetrit today gave a partial overview of the assets he owns.
At the movement's faction meeting held today in the Knesset, Sheetrit said: "I know there was great curiosity, I was waiting to see what others were publishing.".
According to him, his residential apartment in Yavne was purchased in 1987 and built at a cost of 1.25 million shekels, and its current value is estimated at 2-3 million shekels. In addition, the Shitrit couple own an apartment in Eilat that was purchased in 1996 for 600,000 shekels, and its current value is estimated at 900,000, as well as an additional one-room apartment in Ashkelon, which was purchased for 400,000 shekels that same year and has not increased in value since. In addition, an apartment in Ashdod worth 1.05 million shekels is registered in his name, which was purchased for his mother-in-law, who recently passed away.
Sheetrit also revealed his paycheck, which includes a MK salary of 39,000 gross, and an additional 3,000 shekels as a supplement to a ministerial salary. However, he does not receive a pension. According to him, "I had 60% pension rights in the Yavne municipality (where he was mayor, Y.H.), and I gave them up. I had 30% pension rights as a minister from the agency (where he served as treasurer, Y.H.) - and I gave that up too.
Referring to his wife's advertising company, Sheetrit Media Group, Sheetrit said: "Together with my wife, the company Sheetrit Media Group is registered. I submit reports jointly to the Income Tax and everything is transparent.".
Sheetrit added that he has no connection to the company's management.
