A wonderful parable from the world of diplomacy about the days of mercy and forgiveness • Obtaining a visa, citizenship, and passport is extremely easy. They say there is not even a queue or rush when issuing the application, three times a day in every synagogue...

Here we have reached the moment, here the time has come, here it is the holiest day in the world.

It seems that there is no power in the entire world that can compare to the inner energies that emerge at the mere mention of the words "Yom Kippur." This great and holy day, which unites the entire Jewish people in all its shades and colors, in the simplicity of its letters.

If, unfortunately, the vast majority of the people, who are far away and captive to their own desires, do not know what the Shema is and who Moses our Lord is, then Yom Kippur, today, as a concept and as an event, is known to everyone who has a Jewish soul within them.

And it is not an empty word, for this great and holy day has its virtues only for those who recognize it and know its essence. Blessed are you, Israel, before whom you are purified, and blessed are you, for it is your Creator who purifies you.

Great moralists liken this sublime day to the laws of the global world.

It is known that every country that maintains friendly relations with its neighbors is obliged to provide a special embassy complex for its neighboring friend. However, there are two conditions for the place in order for the name of the embassy to be inscribed on it; the place must be fully owned by the friendly country both in the land registry and as official government property, and the additional condition requires that in the embassy complex throughout its length and breadth, only the laws of the host country will apply and in no way will illegal practices and policies of the place apply.

For example, a great absurdity often arises when someone violates the laws of their country in the embassy building - where different laws apply - and therefore there is no possibility of bringing them to justice.

These two conditions have been observed with extreme fidelity over the years, and a small deviation from one of them, and especially the second condition, has the power to create acute diplomatic crises, ultimately leading to real wars between superpowers, and things have already happened before.

However, and notwithstanding the foregoing, the laws of the embassy country will not apply to the person in the compound unless he holds a valid passport, which identifies him as a full citizen and subject of the host country. Otherwise, the person will be judged solely according to the laws of the current country's government in all its aspects.

These sublime and great days, which are delimited among the days of the general year, are defined by the moralists as the embassy of the policy of kindness of the merciful, the merciful, the merciful, and the compassionate, and the one who allows the justice to prevail.

During these days, the right of everyone who is in the embassy compound, what does it mean during these days, to be judged according to the laws of the mercy policy and to be completely spared from the measure of justice that applies every day of the year outside the area of the Embassy of Mercy - which opens its doors during these ten days to everyone.

But here too, the main condition of "carrying the passport of the country of the embassy" is strictly required. Here too, absolute identity and citizenship in the country and government of the Creator of the world is required.

Only they, the 'citizens of the Holy One, blessed be He,' will be the ones who will be judged in the embassy compound by a merciful court with grace and compassion. Other citizens will not be given the right to avoid the measure of justice and come under the wings of mercy, if they have not received His 'citizenship' and His G-d, may He be blessed upon them.

This, then, is the virtue and this is the wise advice these days, and especially on the great and holy Yom Kippur - the heart of the consulate complex. Obtaining a visa, citizenship, and passport is very easy. They say that there is not even a queue or congestion when issuing the application.

Three times a day in every synagogue, there is the opportunity to love His name, blessed be He, over us and receive His complete divinity and kingdom over us as Father and King.

Only in this way, only by this virtue of standing up and enlisting as loyal soldiers to whatever the Sovereign commands us, are we given the opportunity to take refuge in these days in the shadow of a merciful Father who spares and has compassion for his sons who suffer and are tormented in the general exile and this personal one.

We find, therefore, that on this Yom Kippur that has come upon us for good, beyond the holy work of prayer on the day of forgiveness and pardon, and beyond the request for supplication that we may be immediately sealed for a good life and peace in the book of the perfect righteous, and that we may already be worthy to see with honor the Shekhinah trampled in the dust, in addition to all this, we must sanctify His name, blessed be He, and accept upon us with all our heart and with all our strength of understanding His kingdom, blessed be He, and His divinity over all our limbs and tissues, over our spirits and souls, so that we may all merit, with all our physical and spiritual garments, to be sheltered deep within that embassy of grace that is open to all who are oppressed and all who are in need among your people Israel.

May you be signed and sealed in the book of life.
