Itamar Ben-Gvir demands 70,000 NIS from the Libertal: Compare it to the murderer of Yishai Schlissel

Attorney Itamar Ben Gvir sent a warning letter to Attorney Dov Halbertal, in which he demands compensation of 70,000 NIS for comparing Ben Gvir and Benzi Gopstein to the murderer of Yishai Schlissel.

The confrontation began after the liberal attacked right-wing activists Ben Gvir and Benzi Gopstein about a week ago in an interview with Gale Israel Radio, saying: "As far as I'm concerned, they're these Schlissels, it's like Schlissels, they're the same thing... a bunch of Jewish terrorists.".

Yesterday (Sunday), Ben Gvir was interviewed on Yossi Ben Atar's program on Galei Israel and spoke about the warning letter he sent to Halbertal.

""If Halbertal doesn't apologize, we'll sue him," Ben Gvir said. "He can't slander and say all sorts of things and not stand behind them. If he thinks I'm a shill, let him come to court and prove how I murdered Jews, God forbid, how I maybe went to the Pride parade and stabbed someone with a knife, God forbid, and if not - then I would really expect 'wise men to be careful with your words.' I say you can disagree, you can disagree with each other, but it won't be slander and defamation.".

 Halbertal refused to apologize on air, and a heated confrontation developed between the two.

במכתב האזהרה ששיגר בן גביר להלברטל, נכתב: "זכותך לחשוב כי צעדות בערה וערערה עושות נזק אך אין לך כל רשות לטעון שאני כמו אותו אדם שרצח נערה חפה מפשע שכל חטאה היה שצעדה במצעד הגאווה, ואין לך זכות לטעון שאני טרוריסט והמשמעות ברורה: רוצח תינוקות, רוצח בני אדם וכן הלאה. ''הדברים שאמרת עלי מהווים לשון הרע כהגדרתו בחוק איסור לשון הרע. הדברים השפילו וביישו אותי, פגעו בשמי הטוב והכפישו אותי ללא כל סיבה, וכל זה בכוונה להפוך אותי למטרה שנואה, ללעג ובוז בעיני הרבים, ובכך גרמת לי לנזק רב ולעגמת נפש עמוקה", מדגיש עו"ד בן גביר במכתבו. הוא הוסיף: ''בעובדה שכינית אותי 'שליסל', 'טרוריסט יהודי' ו'רוצח', חשפת אותי לפגיעה ממשית בחיי ובחיי משפחתי, מצד ארגוני טרור וארגוני שמאל קיצוניים''. עו"ד בן גביר דורש מעו"ד הלברטל להביע התנצלות פומבית בפניו על גלי האתר, ולשלם לבן גביר פיצויים בגובה 70 אלף שקלים. ''ככל שלא תפעל כנדרש לעיל, בתוך 14 ימים מיום המצאת מכתב זה, לא אהסס לנקוט בכל האמצעים המשפטיים העומדים לרשותי לצורך שמירה על זכויותיי, מניעת המשך הפרתן והסדרת הפיצויים בגין כך", מבהיר בן גביר.
