The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Amar, arrived this evening (Tuesday) to arrange a chuppah and kiddushin for the daughter of businessman Pinchas Lahiani, CEO of Finish. However, during the chuppah, an unusual moment occurred: When the glass cup was brought so that the groom could break it with his foot, the rabbi of Jerusalem asked to inspect the glass, which was tightly wrapped in plastic wrap. The Rabbi said: "This is not a glass cup" - but those present replied: This is what the hall managers brought, it is a special cup that is easy to break... The Chief Rabbi insisted on his decision, and everyone was surprised to discover: it was a Styrofoam cup in which they placed a glass bulb, which was attached to the plastic wrap. Rabbi Amar took a glass cup, wrapped it, and only then handed it to the groom to break the glass in memory of the destruction. Watch.
