Demonstration of who-knows-how-many-and-why in Mea Shearim: In the evening, a group of several dozen protesters gathered at the intersection of Mea Shearim and Kikar Hashabbat streets, and after dragging bins to the center of the road, as is tradition, they set them on fire.
When asked by a Haredim10 reporter why the road was blocked and why the bins were set on fire, a fascinating series of answers was received:
One protester shouted in a hoarse voice that "the Zionists dug graves near the tomb of the prophet Habakkuk." A quick investigation revealed that there was no official source for this. In other words, a completely original first answer.
The boys dancing around the burning canister shouted in unison that "the arsons are because of the draft." Another handful included the curious who hadn’t seen a burning can in Mea Shearim for 17 hours, and local residents who looked up to the sky and just wanted to know why this was happening to them again.
The 'demonstration' was dispersed by the police shortly after it began.
Towards midnight, the street was quiet. theFights, and only a few marginalized boys tried to damage minority vehicles for their own enjoyment.
