On the one hand, United Torah Judaism representatives attacked Shas: They did not object in the Finance Committee to transferring budgets to an anti-Haredi administration because of 'deals' with Barkat • On the other hand: The same United Torah Judaism representatives voted on a budget for that administration, in order to produce an alternative Shavuot night correction, in exchange for a 'deal' • United Torah Judaism response: "We made a mistake, and if we don't do it - we are not wrong""

Two-faced? Yesterday (Sunday), representatives of United Torah Judaism in Jerusalem claimed in the municipal finance committee that they are not willing to allow the transfer of budgets to the community administration in Kiryat Yuval, Yuvalim, due to its anti-Haredi nature, which refuses to allow any Haredi activity in Kiryat Yuval. As a result, the representatives voted against two budget items - for the library and the leadership program - that are being operated in Yuvalim.

Torah Judaism even attacked Shas representatives for leaving the committee during the vote and not opposing the approval of the proposed budget items.

However, a review of the Finance Committee's agenda reveals an additional budget item belonging to the Jubilee Administration: a Shavuot night correction in Tsalil and Omer, in the amount of approximately 66,000 NIS.

• Why did Shas representatives cooperate with Barkat in voting on the budget?

This is an alternative event to the traditional Tikun on Shavuot night, which takes place a few days before the holiday, and includes poetry and lectures from people who are not comfortable with the spirit of the wise. The event is taking place at the Ein Kerem Community Center, which is owned by the 'Yuvalim' administration, and forms an integral part of the administration and its budget, and lecturers such as Dov Elbaum, Haviva Pedia and Muki Tzur are expected to participate.

The event is being produced by the Ariel Municipal Corporation, under the auspices of the Israel Heritage Department in the Culture Division. The person holding the Israel Heritage portfolio is Dov Kalmanovich, chairman of the Jerusalem Jewish Home. Haredim10 learned that Kalmanovich asked the Haredi committee members not to oppose the budget, in exchange for cooperation on other matters.

The budget for this event was passed by the committee, in the presence of members of the United Torah Judaism faction in Jerusalem, with the minutes stating that there was one abstention.

In a conversation with Haredim10, the chairman of the United Torah Judaism faction in the city, Eliezer Rauchberger, claims that he is the council member who abstained. Rauchberger evaded a direct answer to our question about why he did not vote against, as in the other sections, but added that the Ein Kerem Community Center is run on a closed budget from the Jubilee Administration, and constitutes an independent autonomy.

The chairman of the Agudat Yisrael faction in Jerusalem, Yaakov Halperin, said in response to the Haredim10: "We made a mistake, and if we don't do it, we're not wrong.".

Council member Shlomo Rosenstein from United Torah Judaism responded: "Apparently, this is a case of inattention to the fact that this is a problematic clause.".
