A master bought for himself: A young British woman watches television shows that she simply cannot stand, only because of her owl, who for some reason especially likes them.

This strange story appeared in the Daily Mail. The young woman, who goes by the name Natasha Welch, described her lifestyle to the newspaper in the following words: "I raised the owl 'Hero' since he was a tiny little chick. I was just like his mother, I fed him from the palm of my hand, he slept in his crib, and at night I would get up to him when he howled and asked for food. Hero was sure that I was his mother.".

But as Hero grew older, it became clear that he had developed his own taste in television, which did not necessarily coincide with his mistress's. He felt that he was the 'man of the house', as Waltz put it, and began to claim the remote. It soon became clear that Hero was addicted to a children's program called Madagascar and to tennis tournaments.

Waltz says that she is forced to watch these programs, which she hates, for hours every morning, simply because Heru is unwilling to compromise on any other program. Moreover, Waltz says that the owl is unwilling to move from the screen until the program is over.

Despite the owl's slightly odd viewing habits, Waltz explains that people mistakenly believe that owls are smart: "He's really not smart, he thinks I'm his mom and that he's human.".
