Zehava Galon sharply attacked journalist Dan Margalit this evening (Sunday), calling him a 'piece of filth.'.
Galon wrote these words after Dan Margalit contacted her on Twitter and wrote: "Three of the injured are our police officers, so does our Galon think she has a light hand on the trigger? Maybe she'll come to the hospital to explain this to the injured on behalf of her Meretz party?""
A few days ago, Gal-On said at a demonstration in Jerusalem, "The acts of revenge and violence against Arab citizens that we have seen recently, and the light hand on the trigger by police and security forces towards Arabs, are the place where racism, fear, incitement, violence and the feeling that there is no responsible adult come together. No to extrajudicial executions. No to excessive use of force.".
Margalit's harsh words did not go unnoticed, and Galon responded to him this evening: "Dan Margalit, you piece of filth. How are you not ashamed to dance in blood like that? The police officers who were injured in the attack in Be'er Sheva and neutralized the terrorists are heroes who deserve all praise. What they certainly do not deserve is for you to use their sacrifice and suffering to spread hatred and incite like the last of the talkbackists... Understand something, Mr. Margalit: When you dare to write that the injured are "on behalf of Meretz," your message is that Meretz supporters should be treated as terrorists. Your blood is on your head.".
Galon also wrote: "I strongly condemn the attack in Beersheba. This is a criminal act of terrorism and I hope that justice will be served against those responsible for it. I send my best wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured, especially the police officers. And when the situation calms down here and the police officers on whose back you are riding will have a little more time and attention, I will also go to the police station closest to my house and file a complaint against you for incitement to violence.".
