The chairman of the Palestinian Authority said that "the Israelis are defiling the Temple Mount with their feet."

The PA chairman's remarks were broadcast on Sky News in Arabic, and among other things, Ibn Mazen said: "...we are completely calm that Jerusalem will be fine, even though the Israelis are waging a fierce, fierce, unparalleled war against us."

"We are in Jerusalem, and we will stay in Jerusalem, and we will defend Jerusalem, and we will defend our holy places - the Christian and Muslim places. And we will never leave our city. We will never leave our city. We will continue to hold every grain of land of this city."

"We bless you, we bless the Murabtat and the Murabtun. We bless every drop of blood that was spilled in Jerusalem. This is pure blood, clean blood, blood in the way of Allah. With the help of Allah, every martyr will be in Paradise, and every wounded person will have his reward."

Abu Mazen reiterated that a Palestinian state will only be established with Jerusalem as its capital: "Our dear brothers, we are all here for Jerusalem, and I tell you honestly, there will never be a Palestinian state without Jerusalem. The Palestinian state must be with its capital in Holy Jerusalem, with its capital in East Jerusalem, with its capital in Jerusalem, which was occupied in 1967."

The chairman of the PA noted that Al-Aqsa and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre belong to the Palestinian people - and cursed: "They have no right to defile them with their filthy feet, and we will not allow them. And we will do everything in our power to protect Jerusalem."

The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dori Gold, responded: "In the world, there are those who challenge the existence of the State of Israel, and there are those who try to defend it. Abu Mazen is proving which side he is on."
