This also happens: A group of rabbis calling themselves the 'Sanhedrin' held a show trial before Rosh Hashanah for three interesting defendants: US President Barack Obama, the Pope, and the UN Security Council. Channel 10 reports.
The judges' main arguments revolve around Obama and the UN's support for the nuclear agreement with Iran, and his support for a Palestinian state.
The bizarre hearing took place in the City of David in Jerusalem, and was conducted according to all accepted legal rules: open doors, defense attorneys, and prosecutors.
The defendants refused to appear for their trial, even though express summonses were sent to them, and the Sanhedrin was forced to appoint a defense attorney to represent them.
Professor Hillel Weiss, one of the members of the Sanhedrin, said in an interview that the president and the pope seek to destroy the Jewish people, adding that this is Obama's true and internal policy, starting at least at the beginning of his reign.
Another judge, Rabbi Ben Shor, was asked what would happen at the end of the trial - and replied: "I don't know, it's impossible to know, this is real justice, this is a real trial, we're not playing a game here, this is not a show.".
Rabbi Yeshayahu Hollander, who was appointed as the defense attorney, explained that he has no defense against Obama, but against the Pope he is preparing to ask the prosecution for proof of guilt.
