If the routine at your job is annoying, you might want to read the following news: The British Guardian website published an interview with an unusual professional - a dog food taster.

The luxury brands that offer dog food around the world strive to ensure that the product they produce meets excellent quality and taste standards.

To this end, 'professional dog food tasters' are employed full-time, who express their opinion on the nature and quality of the food.

Philip Wells is one of Lilly's chief tasters: "Our palates and dogs' palates are different, but I still taste to determine whether each ingredient in the food we offer is perfectly balanced."

And what is the salary?

It turns out that it's not bad at all. Wells says that the average annual salary is 20,000 euros, but it's easy to reach 50,000 euros.

Despite the pay and the relatively easy work, Wells says that sometimes he feels his stomach turn: "Sometimes the food is really delicious, but on the other hand, there are some animal foods that are so horrible in terms of taste that just thinking about it makes me nauseous."

Is this job suitable for you as Jews? Not sure. Some of the food, naturally, is not kosher, since dogs are not commanded to keep kosher...

However, the issue of the kosherness of dog food arises every year during Passover, as according to Halacha, it is forbidden to feed one's own pet with leaven, since it provides pleasure to a person - and leaven is forbidden even in pleasure.
