On the "seventh anniversary" of the passing of the Rebbe of Bytschkov, his family and students went to pay their respects at the tent of the Kretschnif Rebbe in Rehovot, where the tombstone was erected and Psalms and Kvitlach were read, as is customary.
About a week ago (21st of Adar 2) Rabbi Zeida Shmuel Rosenbaum, the late Rebbe of Bytschkov, passed away in the city of Jaffa.
The Rebbe, zt"l, was born to his father, the Rebbe, Rabbi David Moshe of Kretshnif, zt"l, and from his childhood, his greatness and great solitude were evident, as he spent day and night studying Torah and praying with wonderful devotion.
The Rebbe established his residence in the city of Jaffa, where he taught Torah to the multitudes of his followers and sympathizers, including even traditionalists whom he drew close to and encouraged. His seminary became a spiritual magnet for all the city's residents of all classes and denominations who would set up a place for their prayers there and would come to gather in the Rebbe's shadow at the "tishim" he held, and they also sought and received his blessings and advice.
Despite his weakness, he continued with his normal routine and, just a few days before he left, managed to hold a banquet with Malva Malka, attended by crowds of Hasidim and city residents.
