The Prime Minister's wife, Sara Netanyahu, participated today (Wednesday) in the groundbreaking ceremony for the protected children's club named after Daniel Tragerman, which will be built in Kibbutz Nahal Oz in the Sha'ar Negev Regional Council. Daniel was killed at the age of 4, when a mortar shell hit the kibbutz, during Operation Protective Edge. The club named after Daniel will be built in Kibbutz Nahal Oz and will serve as a protected and safe club for the children of the kibbutz.

After the cornerstone-laying ceremony, Netanyahu visited the Tragerman family home, where she met with family members: parents Doron and Gila, and their children Yuval and Uri. A year ago, immediately after Daniel's murder, Netanyahu turned to Keren Hayesod and asked to raise donations for his memorial and to promote the quality of life of the children of Nahal Oz.

The global chairman of Keren Hayesod, Eliezer (Modi) Zandberg, spoke today about Netanyahu's appeal: "I remember the phone call that came immediately. Mrs. Netanyahu asked that we mobilize for the sake of the family and for the sake of the children of the kibbutz - the future generation.".

He noted: "Residents of Nahal Oz - you are not alone, the entire people of Israel stand behind you and each one expresses solidarity in their own way. Together we will face and together we will succeed, until a day of peace and quiet comes.".

Netanyahu spoke movingly during the event: "Today, joy is mixed with sadness – on the one hand, joy over the establishment of this important place for the children of the kibbutz, and on the other hand, terrible sadness ahead of the anniversary of the passing of the late Daniel.

""The entire people of Israel experienced the difficult days of Protective Edge and the terrible tragedy of Daniel's death. Daniel is the child of all of us and the void left by his death will never be filled." Netanyahu added: "This club is a symbol of the difference between us and our enemies. They, the terrorists, hide behind a civilian population and shoot at civilians and children.

""They invest in destruction and death, and we, in contrast, think about life, value the quality of life and life itself, and invest in the education and well-being of our children.".

""Their cruelty knows no bounds, while we, every parent in Israel, only seek to live a normal life here and raise our children in peace and tranquility amidst a sea of madness and cruelty.".

שרה נתניהוNetanyahu strengthened the residents: "The stance of the residents of Nahal Oz and their belief in the righteousness of our path strengthens us all and inspires great appreciation. It enables all of us to live in this country.".

Netanyahu moved the kibbutz members who attended the event when she read a letter that the Prime Minister sent to the Tragerman family immediately after the murder of Daniel the Elder, a letter that Mrs. Netanyahu delivered to the family during the Shiva days, when she came to comfort them. During that visit, Netanyahu spoke with the family about the great importance of protecting the children of the kibbutz during days of fighting in the south, in order to ensure their daily routine, and thus the idea was born to establish the children's club named after Daniel the Elder.
