On street corners in the United States, there are boxes similar to the mailboxes in Israel - but there they contain the daily newspapers. Those who wish to purchase a newspaper pay the cost of the newspaper, open the door of the box and take the newspaper of their choice. Since the door of the box is not locked, this 'trade' is built on a trust basis.

Over the years, identical boxes have also been placed on street corners in ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods. For example, the newspaper "Hamodia" is known for its green boxes.

For a long period of time, a photographer followed the young men and women who came every morning to read the newspaper's cover, through the transparent window of the box.
