The visit of the president of the Shas Council of Torah Sages is particularly interesting given the tensions within Shas and the support of Rabbi Mazuz for the Grand Rabbi Amar and Eli Yishai.

Visiting patients and possibly also fusing fractures: The head of the Porat Yosef yeshiva and president of the Council of Torah Sages, the Gaon Rabbi Shalom Cohen, is expected to arrive in Bnei Brak today (Monday) to visit the Gaon Rabbi Meir Mazuz, the head of the Kisei Rachamim yeshiva.

Rabbi Mazuz recently underwent surgery on his leg, and Gerash Cohen has long expressed his desire to visit. However, only now will this be implemented. The Gerash will come to Rabbi Mazuz's home to fulfill the mitzvah of visiting the sick.

The visit has special significance, given the tensions that exist between Rabbi Mazuz, who is affiliated with the Rashal, the Haredi Amar, and former Shas chairman MK Eli Yishai, and the Haredi Cohen and the Shas leadership.

As we recall, Rabbi Mazuz made the effort to travel to Jerusalem on Passover for the "Welcoming His Master" event held by Rabbi Amar, despite his great weakness. Our political correspondent, Sheri Roth, reported at the time that Rabbi Cohen called MK Nissim Ze'ev, who participated in welcoming his rabbi, and reprimanded him for it.

Does this signal a unity within the Sephardic public and the Shas movement? And how will this affect the relationship between Aryeh Deri and Eli Yishai? It is too early to know.
