Netanyahu leaves for Japan: Special flight costs about $1.15 million

To the land of the rising sun: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is leaving for a working visit to Japan this evening (Saturday night), with the aim of strengthening ties between Israel and Japan and promoting economic relations between the countries. The Prime Minister is also accompanied by his family.

During his visit to Tokyo and Kyoto, Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet with the Emperor of Japan, the Prime Minister of Japan and his deputy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Minister of Defense of Japan, the Minister of Trade and Industry, and other senior figures. The Prime Minister will also meet with the business leadership of Japan, the KEIDANREN, with Japanese businessmen and senior figures from the Japanese economy. Prime Minister Netanyahu will also meet with the heads of Panasonic and Rekutan, which recently acquired Viber.

The economic meetings will emphasize Israeli technological developments, with an emphasis on cyber technologies, water conservation technologies, alternative energies, biotechnology, and more.

A check by TheMarker website revealed that the flight will be on a Boeing 767-300 and will include a separate lounge for the Netanyahus, which includes a special double bed. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the cost of the special flight is approximately $1.15 million.
