Petah Tikva: Two drunks attacked Haredim at a bus stop

A group of Haredim standing at a bus stop in central Petah Tikva was violently attacked by two drunks • They also attacked the police officers who arrested them • Their detention was extended by two days

Two Petah Tikva residents, aged 22 and 27, were arrested last night on suspicion of attacking Haredim at a bus stop in the city.

The two approached a group of Haredim waiting at the bus stop in central Petah Tikva and began beating them. The attackers did not require medical treatment.

Passersby who noticed the fight called the police. The young men also attacked the police officers who arrived at the scene and threatened them. An initial investigation indicates that two The attackers were drunk. After they addressed the Haredim who were standing at the bus stop several times and received no response, they attacked them.

The suspects were arrested and brought to court. Their detention was extended by two days.
