A righteous man comes to the city: Rabbi Cohen, president of the Shabbat Torah Sages' Conference in the city of Bnei Brak.
Upon his arrival in the city on Friday, he visited the home of a member of the Council of Torah Sages, the Haredi Adani. The Haredi Adani came out to meet him and was received with great respect. For long minutes, the two conversed about Torah. And in the case of Dumas. From there, the president of the 'Council' arrived at the hostel where he was staying - the house of his son-in-law, Rabbi Yosef Hayon, on Rosenheim Street in Bnei Brak.
Near Shabbat, Mayor Hanoch Seibert, Deputy Mayor Eli Dadon, Deputy and Acting Mayor Avraham Rubenstein arrived to receive the blessing. The Rabbi kindly blessed them, wishing them the privilege of increasing Torah and sanctifying the name of heaven in the city of the Torah. During the talks, Rubenstein, who also serves as secretary of the Council of Torah Elders of Degel Hatorah, said that everyone still remembers and is strengthened by the tears of the Rosh Yeshiva in the Councils meeting over the draft decree.
The Haredi prayed the Shabbat night prayer in the central Sephardic synagogue, led by the Gaon Rabbi Masoud ben Shimon, Rosh Yeshiva Or Elitzur. After the Shabbat service, the neighborhood rabbis - the Gaon Rabbi Yitzhak Zalberstein, a member of the Council of Torah Scholars, and the Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Silman - arrived at the Sephardic synagogue and asked the head of the yeshiva to honor them with a strengthening talk in the large Ashkenazi synagogue. The Haredi granted their request, as the rabbis, along with the large congregation, ascended to the central synagogue, where over a thousand people crowded together.
First, the neighborhood rabbi, Rabbi Zalberstein, spoke and said: "Every fire needs a blower to ignite the fire, just as every generation needs a blower, and the blower in our generation is the head of the yeshiva, Rabbi Shalom Cohen." In his remarks, Rabbi Zalberstein added that his father-in-law, Rabbi Elyashiv, had great respect for the head of the yeshiva.
For about half an hour, the yeshiva's head preached encouraging words on the subject of preparing for the Torah, and after the sermon, hundreds of avrechim and bene Torah scholars accompanied the new president, singing "Truth, How Wonderful It Is" and "Life and Peace Will Be Added to Him" - to the hostel.
The next day, the Rabbi Cohen prayed at the Birkat Ephraim yeshiva, and after the prayer, the Rabbi served as godfather in the covenant for his grandson.
At the end of Shabbat, the Rabbi delivered a sermon of encouragement for the giving of the Torah at the yeshiva students' seminary near the 'Shteyli Zetim' Talmud Torah, where hundreds of city residents participated.
