The topic may be a bit of a cliché, but as the election date approaches, the propaganda videos rise in level, to the point of depicting Hitler and his Nazi gang, as a comparison to the elections and the protest by the ultra-Orthodox women who want to express their opinions in the Knesset.
A few words before.
I am a big believer in strong women. I write columns about strong women from the Bible, as extraordinary figures and from a place of learning. And taking inspiration From them.
I myself, Ricky Levy, work independently in the real estate sector, which is a completely male-dominated field, and for over 10 years I worked in 'powerful' positions in advertising agencies, during which I encountered CEOs, ministers, and members of Knesset. I walked around the Knesset itself.
In the last elections, I worked at Afikim Publishing, which ran the Shas campaign, so I know all the moves very closely.
I don't usually talk about myself. Even in articles published in various media outlets, I didn't talk about myself.
This time I feel an inner need to express my opinion, as an ultra-Orthodox woman. A non-fanatic, non-old-fashioned, ultra-Orthodox woman who doesn't see the world in black and white.
Not elected, not elected?!
I have no problem with women being in the Knesset, I have no problem with a woman's head, and a woman's leadership.
But an ultra-Orthodox woman? What exactly are you looking for there? Spotlight? Self-fulfillment? A microphone attached so that you can be heard and seen?
Let's be honest: what exactly is missing that you want this for?
Do you not trust the men to lead actions for the benefit of your sector? Do you not believe that laws will be passed for the benefit of your son? Your daughter? Your family? Do you think your voice will be stronger/more credible?
If they see a woman in the Knesset, will love for the Haredim increase? Will you represent them with more respect and femininity in the face of all the wolves waiting for the Haredim in the corner?
Why are you trying to be a man, and are you offended by those who say you have no place with them? Do you also want to be tenth in the minyan? Why aren't you offended that at the Shabbat table you don't deserve to be third in the order of summons?
You are also disqualified from testifying.
Continue? You are not fit to be a witness (women are ineligible to testify).
Where and why did the inner demon suddenly wake up and scream at you that you're not willing to continue like this anymore?!
And again I repeat: If you have a problem with the sector, then say: I don't want to be Haredi. Or then go for representation in Likud or with Yair Lapid - who will be very happy to add another bizarre and bizarre color to his.
And it's not that I'm hiding behind the dishes, and it's not that I don't like being heard. The only question is where?
If I want to sit in the Knesset one day, it certainly won't be within a party of miserable women, who are trying to force themselves into a place where no one wants them.
It reminds me of the ethnic discrimination that is always brought up, and then they want it not to be remembered. There is discrimination against strong women, it's just that they come from an unhappy place....
Hitler, where have you been?
And as for the campaign, as the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, I am appalled by the very fact of taking figures who have no ability to explain what they did to the Jewish people, and turning them into what? A suffocating figure? A controlling rabbinical figure? The one who decides for you?
Hitler?! Is this the most bizarre and far-fetched thing you've chosen to go, or will you take hell and heaven in the next video, and there create a figure of the Creator of the world, who throws you into hell just because you're miserable women who want to go to the Knesset?
How far will your madness go? How far are you willing to cross the boundaries of humanity?
Your video is disgusting and questionable. Does the end justify all means? Do you still define yourself as strong and opinionated - because in this video you are weak and lower your head and whine.
Do you think, as a woman, I'm supposed to support such a weak, crying woman who has made herself a victim?
Do you want a seat in the Knesset? Don't force yourself into places where you're not wanted. Seek representation in non-Haredi parties. That will be received much better.
I wish you self-fulfillment, and filling the inner voids that push you to go against an entire sector. Self-fulfillment is not an easy path, and perhaps what you are doing is part of your inner clarification, with your religious identity.
I bless you, that with God's help, each one will attain her own personal redemption, out of contentment, happiness and joy, with a deep connection to the Creator of the world.
